Ministry of Music
From earliest times music has been a part of the church. It has played a vital role in its development throughout all of history, and continues to exist as a key tool for preaching the Gospel to persons of every age. It serves as nothing else can as a medium of expression for humankind in every event of life.
Building on such a strong foundation continues to be a source of inspiration and education for all who actively participate In the Music Ministry of this church. This participation provides opportunities for:
SELF EXPRESSION ...singing allows us to give utterance to our deepest religious feelings.
SELF ADVANCEMENT ...increases our knowledge of the art of singing, literary expression, and the Holy Scriptures.
SOCIAL CONTACTS ...brings us together with those of similar interest.
SERVICE TO OTHERS ..our choirs lead several hundred people in worship each week. This spiritual leadership through music has eternal value.
THE CHILDREN's CHOIRS have definite goals toward which the training is aimed. Amoung these are:
To build eternal values into the life of each child
To teach reverence and worship
To teach correct basic habits of singing
To assist in bringing the child to musical literacy
To help train the child in self-discipline and cooperation
To teach the great hymns and anthems of the church
To prepare and present music for occasional services and special musical programs through which the
congregation may worship God.
